Mechanical Properties of 3D-Printed Components Using Fused Deposition Modeling: Optimization Using the Desirability Approach and Machine Learning Regressor

The fused deposition modelling (FDM) technique involves the of a layer material according to geometry designed in software. Several parameters affect quality parts produced by FDM. This paper investigates effect FDM printing process on tensile strength, impact and flexural strength. effects such as speed, thickness, extrusion temperature, infill percentage are studied. Polyactic acid (PLA) was used filament for test specimens. experimental layout is response surface methodology (RSM) responses collected. Specimens prepared testing these per ASTM standards. A mathematical model each developed based nonlinear regression method. desirability approach, regression, well values close agreement with other. approach predicted strength less error 3.109, 6.532, 3.712, respectively. 2.977, 3.474, concept resulted best mechanical property FDM-printed part.
